Hynes, Molash and Roberson Compete at Georgia Diving Invitational

Athens, Ga. – Sophomore Kate Hynes finished fifth in the 3-meter dive at the Georgia Diving Invitational with a score of 254.60. Hynes completed the preliminary competition in fourth place with 269.15 points to qualify for finals. Kelsey Patterson of the University of Utah took the top honors with a score of 286.75.
In the men's 1-meter trial competition, senior Brett Molash placed 13th (257.85) and sophomore Jake Roberson notched a 21st-place finish (198.20). Molash missed qualifying for the final round of competition by two points.
Competition will resume at the Georgia Diving Invitational tonight as the top six divers in the women's 3-meter event and the men's 1-meter event compete in a shoot out competition, which Hynes qualified for with her fifth-place finish. The women will contest the 1-meter event and the men will compete in the 3-meter event on Thursday, January 4, 2007.
